CMU Centers of Excellence

Did you know that at CMU we have Centers of Excellence (CoE) for both project and change management? These centers are sponsored and supported by Computing Services' Business Innovation Office. Computing Services partners with knowledgeable practitioners from the Office of Human Resources, University Libraries and Finance who have volunteered their time to develop the training content.

The trainings aim to generate a broader culture at CMU on these important disciplines and equip participants to support important organizational endeavors. The Centers of Excellence also provide an opportunity for participants to network and knowledge share. At the end of each training session, participants are added to an alumni network of training graduates to facilitate ongoing networking, including invitations to quarterly CoE-hosted events.

The Project Management Center of Excellence offered its first training in spring 2023. To date, over 100 staff members across campus have participated. The Change Management Center of Excellence piloted its first training this fall and hopes to repeat the success of the project management center.

If you are interested in participating in the new year or would like to learn more, please visit the Centers of Excellence website and add your name to the waiting list for an upcoming offerings.
