If you participate in one of the university’s health plans, the vaccine is covered 100% in-network at your doctor's office.

Alternatively, you can go to any participating in-network pharmacy and present your CVS ID card to receive your COVID vaccine.

Flu Vaccination Program
Faculty and staff members can get a flu shot at any Giant Eagle Pharmacy location in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia or Frederick, Maryland. You will need to present your CMU ID card. Before coming to a Giant Eagle Pharmacy location for your flu shot:
- Call at least 24 hours ahead (recommended).
- Print the Influenza Administration Form [pdf] and complete and sign the first page.
- Bring your CMU ID card.
- Bring your Giant Eagle Advantage Card to receive a $5 credit.*
- Wear short sleeves (recommended).
Outside of the Pittsburgh Area
U.S. faculty and staff members based outside of the Pittsburgh area can go to any participating in-network pharmacy and present their CVS ID card to receive their flu shot.

Do I have to be benefits-eligible to receive a flu vaccine?
No. Flu vaccinations are available to all faculty and staff members, regardless of benefits eligibility status or health plan participation.
Can my family member(s) get vaccinated at Giant Eagle Pharmacy?
Family members of CMU faculty and staff can get a flu vaccination on their insurance plan. Most insurance plans (Highmark, UPMC, Aetna, Cigna) cover the flu vaccination at no charge. Minimum age requirements for vaccination at Giant Eagle Pharmacy vary by state.
I can't make it to a Giant Eagle Pharmacy location or on-campus clinic. What other options do I have for getting vaccinated?
If you participate in a CMU health plan, the vaccine is covered at 100% at your doctor's office. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement for a vaccine received at another venue. Call your health plan provider for more information. U.S. faculty and staff members based outside of the Pittsburgh area go to any participating in-network pharmacy and present their CVS ID card to receive their flu shot.
I'm a CMU student. Where can I get my flu vaccination?
Students with the SHIP plan can make an appointment with University Health Services to get vaccinated.
